Polarization management is essential for avoiding signal fading and errors in optical communications, gyroscopes and interferometric sensors. To obtain a high accuracy in measurement it is essential to have light with a single state of polarization. Intelmac's In-Line Fiber Optic Polarizers is designed to comply with the Tel- cordia (Bellcore) GR-1221-Core specification. There are no free space optics and no internal interfaces to reflect light. This means a small vibration insensitive packaging size and a near zero return loss. In Line Depolarizers is an integrated
component designed to reduce Degree of Polarization (DOP) for a wide range
of optical sources. The design uses an all fiber path and results in very
low DOP The Intelmac Raman pump laser Depolarizer is a cost effective all fiber device that produces an ultra low degree of polarization (DOP) output for broadband sources. The Raman Depolarizer can be spliced directly to the polarization multiplexed combiner or broadband source and will depolarize evenly the fast an slow axes power distribution at any of the 14xx pump wavelengths. Optical Fiber
Patch Cords and Pigtails. One of the most important components for an optical fiber system is the connector. An connector joins two fibers together (Patch Cord) such that light passes from one fiber to the other. The main requirements for patch cords are to minimize signal loss and back reflection while providing a connection that is stable both mechanically and optically. Intelmac cable assemblies comprise of Simplex and Duplex (Mini Zip), Single and Multimode patch cords and pigtails. The following connectors can be terminated: FC/UPC, SC/PC, SC/APC, ST/UPC, LX.5/APC, E2000/APC, SMA-905, FDDI and DIN-47256. Optical Fiber
Connectors and Ferrules. Fiber connectors rely upon alignment of the two prepared fiber core ends in close proximity (butted) to each other so that the fiber core axes coincide with low insertion loss and back reflection. The main requirements for patch cords are to minimize signal loss and back reflection while providing a connection that is stable both mechanically and optically. Intelmac offers connector kits with precision bore ferrules for numerous data communications and Telecommunications applications. The following popular connectors and ferrules for various applications are available: SC, ST, FC and LC MU. Fixed attenuators are used in optical systems where the optical power from a source is to high for the test equipment in use. The fixed optical attenuator introduces an in-line fixed loss that will reduce the source power to an acceptable detection level. Intelmac offers fixed attenuation level connectable SC, FC, LC and MU attenuators.
SM Fiber Splitters-Fused Couplers
Fused Optical couplers and splitters are ideal for splitting optical signals between two fibers, or combining light from two fibers into one fiber with exceptional performance over a wide wavelength range. Constructing optical splitters and couplers by fusing and tapering two optical fibers together provides a simple rugged and compact method of splitting and combining optical signals.
Daul Window Fiber Splitters-Fused Couplers
Intelmac's dual window single mode wideband Coupler-Splitter offers similar performance at the 1310nm and 1550nm band. These couplers-splitters have excellent uniformity, low excess loss and very low polarization sensitivity and are available with coupling ratios from 1% to 50% and have 1x2 or 2x2 configuration.
Fused Optical Fiber WDM Couplers-Splitters
Fused WDM splitter series is based on fused biconical taper technology with high performance in the 1310nm and 1550nm wavelength regions. It features good uniformity, low excess loss and very low polarization sensitivity.
Multi Mode Optical fiber Couplers-Splitters
Intelmac's Multi Mode (MM) fused coupler and splitter series offer superior performance and long-term reliability. Due to the wide band operation of multimode fiber these devices operates from 700nm to 1600nm and are highly stable with low insertion loss over all split ratios. In line fiber power monitors. The non-invasive in-line power monitor is an important component for dynamic gain equalizing in WDM and EDFA systems.Power monitors combine the optical tap design with a photodiode in a single continuous fiber with no interruptions to the path. The device incorporates a log amp to produce a voltage proportional to the optical power within the fiber. The power monitor will be available in a single and multiple channel devices for WDM applications. A PM version will also be available shortly. Coming soon… |
