In-Line Optical Fiber Raman Depolarizers.

Depolarizers image

Raman amplifiers are devices that use the intrinsic properties of single mode optical fiber to create distributed amplification. By using broadband light sources for the Raman pump, several advantages over traditional Raman amplification techniques can be obtained. These include an ultimate in gain flatness and ripple, reduction in four wave mixing and a dramatically simplification in polarization scrambling or depolarization.

The Intelmac Raman pump laser Depolarizer is a cost effective all fiber device that produces
an ultra low degree of polarization (DOP) output for these broadband sources. The Raman Depolarizer can be spliced directly to the polarization multiplexed combiner or broadband source and will evenly depolarize the fast an slow axes power distribution at any of the 14xx pump wavelengths.

Intelmac offers a variation of these devices and an in-line all fiber polarizer can be integrated on
the input side of the depolarizer to improve Raman source depolarization stability.

Features:
 - Low Degree of Polarization (DOP)
 - Near zero back reflection
